Falls, A Fair and Antibiotics

Thomas and the great Minneopa Falls. Ok..so, it's not that big, but it's pretty beautiful. We strapped Thomas into the backpack/babypak and away we went. He thought it was pretty fun to be able to reach trees and leaves, above dad's head. It was a gorgeous morning in Mankato and made just the perfect day for an outing. He would occasionally lean forward and greet his dad, it was very sweet.

We went to the Minnesota State Fair yesterday. We had a great time. Thomas tried his first taste of a corndog...the first bite went well, but the other bites came out pretty quickly. Oh well..maybe it's a good thing that he wasn't that into the fried food. He loved the tractor area. Tractor has become his new word. It comes out as "tra tra." When he saw all of the different colors and sizes...it was a big day! It was fun to watch him get so excited about that.

After a great day at the Fair yesterday..today he has a double ear infection. He seemed fine the whole day and then when we got home, he just looked a little off to me. His temp was 102.8, so I brought him down to Urgent Care. An ear infection it is. Poor little man. You know your son is feeling icky, when he chooses sleep over tractors at 7:00pm. Hopefully, he will be feeling better, after his antibiotics kick in.
New things this week:
  • Walking is super fun!! Thomas is getting better and better at it. He's also becoming pretty daring. He doesn't seem to have any fears. We are definitely in the scrapes and bruisers era.
  • When Thomas eats something that he likes, he says, "mmmm" afterwards. It's very cute. Although, sometimes I'm not sure if he really likes it, or if he thinks he should make that sound. Sometimes the look on his face says differently.
  • He seems to be striking a pose sometimes. He puts his hands under his chin and makes a very goofy smile. It's pretty fun to watch.
  • If you mention bath or bedtime, Thomas crawls/walks to the bottom of the stairs. If you mention that it's time to eat, he heads towards the kitchen. It's fun to see him start to recognize some of these things.
