Christmas Eve Eve was at my family's house. We had our traditional Swedish meal and opened packages. My sister and her family were up from Texas, which was great! It was pretty much a Cars 2 Christmas for Thomas, which he loved. Henry enjoyed watching everyone open presents and ripping wrapping paper up.
Christmas Eve was spent at Charlie's mom's house, with all of the family. We had a great time. All of the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma were able to be there. We capped the evening off with our annual Cranium game, which always involves lots of belly aches from laughing so much. We spent Christmas Day with Charlie's grandma and the rest of the family. It's always great to see everyone.
We got home on Christmas Day afternoon and Thomas was very excited to see that Santa had remembered to stop at our house, even though we were not there. He had been asking for Francesco and Holly Shiftwell (Cars 2) and wouldn't you know..Santa listened. :)
We really were truly blessed to be able to spend so much time with both of our families during this time of year.
Since my work was closed this week, I decided that it would be a good time to have a little "mom staycation." The boys went to daycare and I cleaned, went for a run, went out to lunch and shopped. It was so nice to have some time to myself, which I feel like I never really get. Today, Thomas and I have been having a date day. We went out for breakfast, got him a haircut and played at the mall for a while.

Henry: He is the best army crawler around! He really could care less about crawling, in the traditional sense, but can move to wherever he wants, by squirming around on his tummy. He can pull up on just about anything and everything and walks around the furniture. He has a few words in his back pocket..mama, dada, uh-oh and we think he said "wow" one day. He laughs all of the time and pretty much enjoys everything that big brother does. I can't believe that he will be one in less than a month!
Thomas: He is still three going on fifty. His words and conversation skills are just enormous. He is such a good big brother and truly cares about his little brother. He loves playing superheros, construction, playing with cars and just about anything that has to do with balls and rough housing with dad.
This has been such a wonderful holiday break. We are looking forward to the New Year and all of the new adventures it will bring! Some of those things being...snow! Yes, it is finally snowing here. It missed Christmas, but maybe January will start off white!
