Happy Birthday America and Swing Batter Batter

We kicked off our 4th of July week with my sister and her family being in town from Texas. The cousins had lots of fun together! It's amazing how much each of them has grown since we were together at Christmas. We had lots of meals at Grandma and Grandpa's house, played in the Dora sprinkler, watched a parade, hit a pinata and raced matchbox cars. A good time was had by all.

On the morning of the 4th, Charlie and Thomas ran in races. Charlie ran in the 8k (5 miles) race and Thomas completed the Toddler Trot. His cousin Anna (4) also completed that run, while older cousin, Becca (almost 8) tackled the Kids 1 Mile race. Charlie finished his five miles in 33:39 minutes!!! Whew!! He's a fast one. Thomas was the first two year old to cross the finish line! He and his friend, Owen, seemed to enjoy being in the race together.

We then went to the parade in town and enjoyed hot dogs in the park afterwards. Both boys (and I might add...me) were asleep when the town fireworks went off. They slept through it all and I woke up in the chair, just in time for Charlie to walk through the door from work.

Today, we went to our first Twins Game at Target Field. Thomas was so excited! He wanted to leave at 7:30 this morning. We took a bus up and back from my work (super nice not having to worry about driving or parking). Our seats were one row from the top, which were awesome! We were in the shade the whole time and there was a fantastic breeze blowing. The boys did great! Henry slept on the bus ride up and back and for an hour at the game. Thomas skipped his nap and was still a very good boy! We sat in our seats until the middle of the 6th inning. We then walked around and explored a bit. On the way home, I think we all crashed out on the bus. It was a great day!

Henry is eating rice cereal, carrots and peas! He gets so excited when he sees the spoon coming. He opens his mouth up wide and kicks his feet! YEAH!!
