Oh Dear, Oh Deer

The first few weeks of November have been filled with deer adventures and oh dear adventures. Charlie headed back to Grove City for deer hunting, the first full weekend and week of November. Thomas and I were going to join him, but I ended up getting another sinus infection and Thomas came down with another ear infection. Luckily, I was able to recognize the signs for Thomas and he was on antibiotics before his fever hit. Thank goodness for Grandma Hogberg and Maja (daycare). Between the three of us, we were able to watch Thomas all week..some of us taking the "feverish" Thomas and the other one taking the "non-feverish" Thomas. It turns out that tubes are in his future. We saw the ENT this week and we are scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday morning. We are hoping that this will help the little guy to feel better. He's pretty much been on antibiotics since the end of May, so it will be great to get him healthy!

Thomas and I joined Charlie at Grandma Johnson's house for the last weekend of hunting and for the Johnson family Thanksgiving. Many of the pictures this time are from our gathering. It was really fun watching Thomas with his cousins...they had a great time.

Today, Thomas and I met our good friends, the Shawgos, at the Edinborough Play Park. What a cool place!! Thomas and his friends, Tyler and Tucker, played so hard. There were so many things to climb on and explore. We will definitely be going back there.

New things these past weeks:

  • Thomas likes to give you funny blinks. Sometimes it is more of a flutter and other times he closes his eyes very lightly and then continues doing whatever it was that he was doing. He's becoming quite a funny guy.

  • He is wanting to be more and more independent with using a spoon. He likes to help eat yogurt, applesauce, etc. It doesn't always all end up in his mouth, but he's trying.

  • Repeating words is fun. He's getting very good at listening to what you are saying and then repeating the right amount of sylables and sounds.

  • He's becoming a little helper. If you ask him to put his cup in the fridge, he walks over to the fridge door and waits for you to open it.
