All Kinds of Fun

Thomas has started to say a new phrase, "Daddy coaching? Rugby ball? Thomas coaching rugby ball." Charlie started coaching the Gustavus Women's Rugby team this past February. On Wednesdays, when Charlie is home with Thomas, he brings him up to practice with the team. Thomas loves being with daddy, rugby balls and girls. :) When I get there to pick him up, he usually says, "RUN!!" I think he's wanting the girls to run more. :) This picture is after Charlie's first game coaching the women..they won! :)

Aside from rugby, we also have every other kind of ball in the house, too. Thomas got a new basketball hoop, which he loves! He likes to shoot, dunk and throw towards the net. He gets pretty excited about it.

Thomas has started saying cheese for pictures, which is proudly displayed in the next picture.

A couple of Charlie's friends were camping a bit south of Mankato, so we joined them for supper. Thomas thought it was pretty fun to be outside, eat steak and feed the puppies treats. He kept talking about Shadow (the black dog), after we left.

This past Saturday, Thomas and I spent the morning with our friends, Brenda and Malcolm. There was a Parking Lot Part, put on by the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota. It was a beautiful day for it. We first went to Dunn Bros. for coffee and breakfast and then headed to the party. There were cranes, dump trucks, fire trucks, police cars, cement trucks, bookmobiles, bikes, mini trucks, etc. The boys had a blast. Thomas liked the trucks from a far, but wasn't too sure about them up close. We got a few pictures where Thomas is screaming, but this one he was very excited in. Malcolm and Thomas were sitting in a kid-size monster truck. FUN! The next picture is of the boys in the kitchen in the Amazing Castle. The Amazing Castle is this really cool way for kids to experience "Castle Times." They cooked supper in the kitchen, planted veggies in the garden and wrestled with the life-size stuffed puppy. How much grander could it get?

New Adventures for Thomas:
  • He really is like a little sponge. Everything that we say, seems to stick in his brain. He will randomly pull out words once in a while that I am just amazed that he remembers!
  • He loves to run! We recently got him some new tennis shoes, now he can run as fast as he wants. He still loves going for walks, but we have to remind him to wait for mommy and daddy at the street corners. He is on the go!
  • This week he has not been interested in eating, which is very rare for him. He didn't eat supper on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday night this week. I'm going to chalk it up to a non-growth-spurt week. I'm sure that next week, he will be eating everything in sight again.
  • Guitar parties in the kitchen and living room are fantastic!! Thomas likes to pick up any sort of toy and pretend it is his guitar. He gets a great scrunchy face going and makes guitar noises. Who knows? Maybe we have a rugby playing musician on our hands?!
  • On a sweet note...Thomas has heard Charlie and I call each other honey many times. Now, he has started doing that, too. At night, when I tuck him in, he usually says, "Wuv you, honey." It's very cute.
