Well, we made it through the very hot few days without air conditioning. Thomas and I decided to make camp in the basement for five nights, which worked out well. It's hard to believe that even a basement can even feel hot and sticky, but it was better than any other option. On Thursday, the air conditioner men came and saved the day. Ahh....air....it's a glorious thing. Even though it's been cool at night again...I can't bring myself to turn it off. It's too lovely.
On Friday, this past week, Thomas and I had the day off together and dad didn't work until 2pm. So, the three of us headed over to the Nicollet County Fair, which is about 10 blocks from our house. Thomas got to see his first cow, sheep and hog. He also got to hang out on a tractor for a bit. He was all smiles, as he sat on that big thing. Dad is hiding in the background, just in case Thomas decided to make a break for it. He may have also tried his first icecream...:) If you are going to taste your first strawberry shake, it might as well be from the Dairy Producers from the county, right?!?
A new, exciting thing....we have an almost walker. He started off taking a few steps between us, but...it's getting to more regular now. He will even take a few steps, without one of us coaxing him into it. He usually gets so excited that he starts cheering or smiling, and then falls over. He looks a bit wobbly, but it's very cute. It's very exciting to watch him. I'm sure in my next blog, I'll be talking about how he's off and running now. Stay tuned...
New discoveries this week:
- Sleeping through the night is wonderful! It has been eleven nights in a row (with the exception of one stuffy-nose-night). YEAH!! We are all happy about this.
- Playing with megablocks (big legos) is even more fun, when you get to take whatever mom and dad are building, rip it apart and throw it across the room.
- Playing with blankets is still super fun. It's especially fun to roll up in them and then try to get out. It can lead to many minutes of pure laughter.
