Touchdown!! Since it has been so long since my last update, I thought it would be best to just post lots of pictures and lots of "new adventures" for the past month. Thomas is getting really great at repeating many things that we say. Touchdown has become a favorite. It used to be what he would say every time he saw a ball, but now he seems to understand that when you say touchdown, you throw your hands in the air. It is lots of fun.
Lately, Thomas has been sitting at the dining room table and playing. He has gotten very good at climbing up on the chair (and sometimes onto the table). He likes to line up his trucks and play. He's also gotten into coloring, thanks to the help of Kathryn (our daycare provider's daughter who is seven). She just loves Thomas and spends lots of time playing with him and making all kinds of crafty projects.
- Words!! Phrases (sort of)!! One day, Thomas was letting the milk run down his chin and I kept telling him that he would get all wet. Pretty soon, he came up to me saying, "Ammie et, ammie et." I eventually figured out that he was saying "jammies wet!" He also says...no way, caca (cracker), cah-kie (cookie), boon (spoon), ya, wow, tickle tickle (which is accompanied by the tickling of any exposed skin that he can see), all kinds of animal sounds and many other words.
- He likes to pretend to cook. He takes measuring cups, spoons and goldfish crackers and keeps transferring them back and forth. He eventually eats everything, too.
- Thomas has become quite a funny little guy. He now seems to realize when he is being funny and makes all kinds of faces and laughs a lot. We have dance parties (which he usually starts), wrestling matches and crazy times with blankets.
- He has started wrapping up his stuffed animals in blankets, giving them kisses and saying nigh-nigh. It's so sweet to watch.
- A big accomplishment...he can now blow his nose!! We have to hold the Kleenex for him, but he has lots of success! He actually seems to enjoy blowing his nose and doesn't mind us constantly keeping after him, when it's running like a faucet.
- He is becoming an independent little man. He definitely knows what he wants and doesn't want now...and he's not afraid to let you know. It's fun to see him developing so much. It's amazing how quickly time is passing by.
Until next time...hopefully, it won't be another month between posts!
